So here is what I DO want to do with this little space-o-my-own on the net....talk, vent, discuss, and ponder the issues that matter to me and I am the most interested in. A majority of "blogs" will mostly be in regards to my Catholic faith. Although, I may mention secular news and views here and there, I mostly would like to have a place to talk about the spiritual side of reality. Because lets face it, reality is spiritual, and this area I love the most. Not because I was raised in any kind of Christian environment, let alone a Catholic Christian environment, but because God brought me where I am today. My parents taught me very little as a lad, and my experiences with God come from the beckoning call in all our hearts, praise the Lord that I was given the grace to respond. Because given my hard heart and harder head I laugh at when I look back at how far He has taken me (my being drug or stumbling the whole way).
In many instances I will be refuting my former self, and seeking to reform my future self. For a little background, I will give a quick time line of my spiritual life (granted, I have to use words to describe greater realities, but ya know):
- born from a woman as a heathen,
- baptized into the Methodist Church and the Christian religion,
- raised in a broken home with very little Christian catechises,
- became wild "agnostic" young teen,
- played with many ideas about many world religions - found them to be usually strong in some moral but self-contradictory, thin, and they left too many questions unanswered,
- brought face to face with Christ and followed Him,
- became highly Calvinistic in a Reformed Presbyterian Church (PCA of course),
- then during years doing a ministry called Young Life I became what I described as "just Christian" with no denominational confessions but still Calvinist (aka a heretic),
- officially declared "denominational freedom" by attending "non-denom" churches,
- then by the grace of God (after a long struggle) came to be in full communion with the Church founded by Jesus Christ - The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church - AKA - The Roman Catholic Church. The "elephant in the room" as I call it. The very Church that has been in existence since Christ established it, and is still alive and kickin out truth like she was just given her first pope (Peter of course).
So, issues regarding the Catholic Church (which I will mostly call "the Church") and all the truths she proclaims. Because as I said at my confirmation (on Divine Mercy Sunday this year 2006) "I believe all the Holy Catholic Church believes, teaches and proclaims to be revealed by God."
